Schools can allow students to request a date change from the regular AP exam date to the alternate exam date set by the College Board. To activate this option, go to the General Info screen within AP configuration and answer "yes" to the "Would you like to allow students to request the alternate date for one of their registered exams?" question and click Save.
Students will then see a Request Alternate Date for Exam link when they log into their accounts at TotalRegistration.net. The student should click that link and complete the required information.
Once the student submits the request, the AP coordinator will see a Student Request to take an Alternate Exam link in the Require Action section of the dashboard and can click that link to approve or deny the request.
If you click Approve, you will see the exam the date change is requested highlighted in red. You can click the drop-down menu to choose the Alternate date and click Save Exams. You will be prompted to enter the reason for the request and any fee that should be added. You will also have the option of sending an email to the student updating them of this change.
If you click Deny, you will be prompted to send an email to the student including the reason for denial. You have full editing capability of the email text.
